What
is a Platform?
A platform is capable of holding a full virtual event from soup to nuts including registration and metrics. The benefits of a platform solution are that the pieces are all there for you. The downside is that that they tend to look somewhat vanilla. If you want to do special things on your platform look carefully at its integration capabilities.
How We Rated the Platforms
For now, the platforms are listed alphabetically and rated. Ratings are subjective and based on reviews from event organizers and attendees that we found scrapping the web for Featured Customers and Event Manager Blogs. Ratings are based on compiling numbers from these sources, with the average taken. Your comments based on your familiarity with the platforms will add to the ongoing ratings.
How We Categorize the Platforms
Platforms come with a wide range of features and functions and no single platform is the perfect solution for all events. In order to help you find a good platform for your event, we have come up with a system of five categories based on the type of event: Video Conference, Webinar, Networking Event, Conference, and Trade Show.
We compare each platform’s offering with the attributes listed in the table below. Based on this process, we identify the primary mission and best use for each platform and assign it to that category. In some cases, we may also assign a secondary category for platforms that may be suitable for another use even though it is not its primary mission.
These assignments are based on our independent judgment using the best information available to us at the time. If you have a comment about the choice for a certain platform, please contact us and let us know why you think the categorization should be different.
