The Røde NTG4+ is one of the company’s shotgun microphones, with a highly-directional supercardioid polar pattern for recording at a distance. This can be handy when you don’t want the microphone in the field of view, and don’t want to use a lav mic. It runs off phantom power, but also has an internal rechargeable battery that can run for more than 150 hours on a single charge.
